McCOOK, Neb. -- Frederick " Fred" John Allen, 74, died Nov. 30, 2014, at his home in McCook.

He was born Nov. 20, 1940 in Iowa City, Iowa, to Dale and Catherine (Kost) Allen. He was raised in West Branch, Iowa, and graduated from West Branch High School in 1958. He lived in Iowa, Oregon and Wisconsin during his life before spending his later years in Nebraska.

He graduated in 1984 from Eastern Oregon University in La Grande, Oregon.

Fred was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in McCook.
