OBERLIN, Kan. -- Delphyn (Bebb) Biggs passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, Nov. 6, 2014, at Decatur Health Systems in Oberlin, Kansas, at the age of 83.
She was born June 10, 1931, in Phillips County, Kansas, to Dale and Catherine (Clason) Bebb. Delphyn was reared in Northwest Kansas and Oregon. She graduated from Grants Pass High School in Oregon with the Class of 1949 and earned a beautician's license in Medford, Oregon, in 1950.
On Feb. 16, 1963, Delphyn married Earl Biggs in Reno, Nevada. They lived in Grants Pass for a time before moving to California, where they resided in Redwood City, Stockton and Ceres. During this time, Delphyn worked as a beautician, bank teller and realtor/broker. In August of 1989, the couple moved to Oberlin. Earl passed away in February of 1990 in Kearney, Nebraska.
Delphyn loved cats, cooking, hard candy, antiques, shopping, talking on the telephone and visits from family and friends.
She is survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Dixie and Garrett Kinser, of Medford, Oregon; niece, Rebecca "B. J." Mathis and husband, Jack; nephews, Richard Addington, James Addington, and John Addington and wife, Young, all of Medford; in addition to many more family members and friends. Delphyn was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
In rememberance of Delphyn, the family suggests memorials be donated to your local humane society or pet shelter.
A memorial service will be Monday, Nov. 17, 2014, at 2 p.m. at Pauls Funeral Home in Oberlin with Rev. Kevin Burkhardt officiating. Burial was Monday, Nov. 10, 2014, at the Norton Cemetery, Norton, Kansas.
