GRAND ISLAND, Neb. -- Gregory Lindsley, 58, of Wolbach died Saturday, Nov. 1, 2014, at CHI Health St. Francis in Grand Island.
Memorial services will be 11 a.m., Wednesday at United Methodist Church in Wolbach, Nebraska. The Reverend Martin Leeper will officiate. Inurnment will be held in Hillside Cemetery in Wolbach.
A visitation will be from 5 -- 7 p.m., today at Jacobsen-Greenway Funeral Home in St. Paul, Nebraska.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the family's choice.
Gregory was born Dec. 19, 1955, in Torrance, California, to Richard and Marlene (Barr) Lindsley.
He grew up and attended school at Wolbach. He graduated from Wolbach High School in 1974.
After high school, Greg immediately started working. He worked in construction for all his life. He worked for Sands Construction Company for over 15 years and lived in China for two years while working with this construction company. While working in construction, Greg worked to renovate the top of the Nebraska State Capital.
He was united in marriage to Jackie Baumfalk on Nov. 19, 1988. To this union they were blessed with two children.
Greg also worked as a farmhand for Reggie Roth for over five years.
He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Wolbach.
Greg was a hard-working man and always was working on something. He was known by many to be the man that would help a family member or a stranger in the drop of a hat. He was always willing to help someone out.
His time spent with family was very valuable to him. He enjoyed cutting wood, hunting, fishing, camping, watching Nascar racing and working on cars with his son.
Greg is survived by his son, Zackery Lindsley of Omaha; one brother and sister-in-law, Gary and Michelle Lindsley of Wolbach; four sisters and brothers-in-law, Sherry and Frank Bell of St. Paul, Deb and Bill Lyons of Wolbach, Pam Neel of Grand Island, Barb and Dan Watts of Oklahoma; a sister-in-law, Deanna Lindsley of Wolbach and his ex-wife, Jackie Lindsley of Grand Island.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Madison Elaine Lindsley; a brother, Steven Lindsley; a nephew, Shawn Sack; brother-in-law, Dale Neel; and grandparents, Alvin and Nelly Barr.
