GERING, Neb. -- Dwaine Sevier passed away Friday evening, Oct. 31, 2014, in Gering at Heritage Estates. As per his wishes, he was cremated and there is no memorial service planned at this time. Memorials may be given to the McCook Humane Society or Tails of Love (spay/neuter organization) in Gering. Online condolences may be left at www.jolliffefuneralhome.com. Dwaine was born Feb. 4, 1923, to Levi and Crystal in Lincoln, Nebraska. In 1942, he joined the Army 7th Service Command, stationed in Jefferson Barracks, Missouri. He worked as a dental technician and was honorably discharged in 1946. In 1947, he married Joyce Wright of Auburn, Nebraska. They were married 57 years. They had four children, Marty, Linnea, Kevin and Dawn. In 1950, they moved to McCook so Dwaine could work as a dental technician in the McCook dental lab for Jack Molsbee. In 1971, Dwaine bought the lab from Jack and he continued to work until his retirement at the age of 76.
Dwaine was very active and had many hobbies. He and Joyce traveled to Europe and also went camping all over the U.S. in their motor home. They spent a lot of time at their cabin, fishing, boating and entertaining family and friends. Dwaine had his pilot's license and owned his own plane for many years. He rode a motorcycle for years, he liked to paint, do woodworking, and golfing was a fun time for him.
He is survived by his children, Marty and Nancy Sevier, Rich and Linnea Wells, Kevin and Cheri Sevier and Dawn Jander; 15 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; sister, Carol Mohr of Lincoln; and brother Dwight (Alice) Sevier of California.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and a sister.
