ARAPAHOE, Neb. -- Lois B. Koller, 105, of Arapahoe, died Wednesday (Oct. 22, 2014), at her home at Prairie Pines Retirement Center at Arapahoe.
She was born on April 9, 1909, at Crab Orchard, Nebraska to James S. and Loretta B. (Hafner) Marshall.
She graduated with her normal school training from Peru State College and taught at a country school near Crab Orchard for five years. She married John H. Koller on June 9, 1935, and they made their home at Grant, Nebraska. They moved to Arapahoe, where they bought the Arapahoe Telephone Company in 1953. Lois was the first resident in the Prairie Pines Retirement Center in Arapahoe, Nebraska in 1997.
She was a member of First United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, PEO Chapter CE, and the Women's Club of Arapahoe, Nebraska.
Lois was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John H. Koller; three brothers, James Lee, Ross, and Douglas Marshall; and great-grandson, Alec Koller.
She is survived by her children, John M. and wife, Sheryl Koller of Arapahoe, Valerie and husband, Jack Blauvelt of McCook, Nebraska; six grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and two great-greatgrandchildren.
Funeral services are Monday, Oct. 27, 2014, at 10:30 a.m. at First United Methodist Church in Arapahoe with the Rev. Becky Saddler officiating. Interment is at the Arapahoe Cemetery.
Memorials may be given to the Arapahoe Library.
