Earnest A. Hamer III

Feb. 8. 1943 - Oct. 15, 2014

ARIZONA -- Earnest A. Hamer III went to be with his Lord and Savior on Oct. 15, 2014.

He was born Feb. 8. 1943, in North Platte, Nebraska. He graduated from North Platte High School. Afterwards, he attended college in Kearney, Nebraska. After graduation, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy where he served for five years on the USS Enterprise during the Vietnam War. He returned to college after his service.

At age 29, he moved to Phoenix, Arizona. Ernie owned a landscape business and excelled at landscape design. On Feb. 2, 1984, he married Elizabeth Hamer. They made their home in Phoenix for many years. The moved to McCook in 2005, where he worked for Kugler's.

This summer, they returned to Arizona.

He was preceded in death by his son, Jeff Brooks.

He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Elizabeth Hamer; daughter, Susan Brooks-Miracle of McCook, Nebraska; son, Darren Brooks of Phoenix; nieces, Karen Washa of McCook and Becky Washa of Tempe, Arizona; nephew, Roger Washa of Ogallala, Nebraska; grandchildren, Brian Dunagan of Phoenix, Patrick Brooks of McCook and Sean and Julia McCoy of Cambrige, Nebraska

He was loved and respected by all who knew him.
