OBERLIN, Kan -- Cynthia Sue Sloan Sauder, 63, of Oberlin, Kansas, died Sunday, October 12, 2014. Cindi Sauder, daughter of the late Cleland A. Sloan and Doris E. Wasson Sloan, passed peacefully surrounded by the love of her family. She decided to move on from her cancer and join her daddy instead.
Cindi is survived by her greatest creations, son David Bradley Sauder and wife, Rocio of The Colony, Texas, and daughter Jaime Lyn Sauder Metcalf and husband, Shannon Metcalf and their two sons (and Grammy's angels), Aden and Axel Metcalf, of McCook, Nebraska. She is also survived by her mother, Doris Sloan of Oberlin; sister and brother-in-law, Judith and Dennis Shirley of Oberlin and brother and sister-in-law, Tom and Leanna Sloan of Hoxie. Cindi started school in Norton, Kansas, attended school in several other places, then graduated from Heidelberg High in Heidelberg, Germany. Later after moving back to the states, she graduated from cosmetology school in Manhattan, Kansas, and spent much of her life in Texas.
She enjoyed organizing and working charity benefits and worked with the Good Samaritan Society in Oberlin until last year. Cindi loved her fashion and loved to garden, sing and decorate for all holidays, especially with snowmen, but most of all, enjoyed spoiling her little grandsons as often as she could.
A memorial service was today, Oct. 20, 2014, at the United Methodist Church in Oberlin with Rev. Kevin Burkhardt officiating. Pauls Funeral Home of Oberlin was in charge of arrangements. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.paulsfh.com.
