MEEKER, Colo. -- Doris Lucille (Peg) Arnold Phillips was born April 6, 1917, near Arthur, Nebraska, to John N. and Alpha Dell (Wymore) Arnold. She passed in Meeker, Colorado, on Oct. 14 , 2014 due to a stroke.

Lucille (Peg) was a farm girl growing up from a very young age on a farm near Freedom, Nebraska. The sod house was home until she married.

Family was always first with her. She loved bowling, playing cards (possibly cheating), bingo, or any game.

She and her family left Cambridge in 1957 to follow her husband, Swede, who worked with the Bureau of Reclamation. They moved to McCook and Loup City, Nebraska, until leaving the state to go to Buena Vista, Colorado, in 1969. They left there to move to Meeker, Colorado, after retiring in 1974 and returned to Holbrook and Cambridge, Nebraska, in 1980. Lucille lived there until 2006, when she moved to Loveland, Colorado. Last August she moved to Meeker, Colorado to be near family.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Willard H. (Swede) Phillips; her daughter, Patty, and son, Don; her parents and siblings, Alice Arnold, Iona (Pat) Stapp, and Robert Arnold.

She leaves daughters, Donna (Del) Miley of Idaho, Jean (Bob) Walters of Arizona and Peggy (Jim) Joy of Colorado and daughter-in-law, Cleo Adams Phillips of Loup City, Nebraska; 12 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews; sister-in-law, May (Phillips) Lawson of Cambridge, Nebraska, and brother-in-law, Ted (Lorene) Phillips of Kingsland, Texas; 17 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Saturday, Oct. 18, 2014, at Lockenour-Jones Mortuary in Cambridge with Pastor Jeff Wulf officiaitng. Interment will be in the Fairview Cemetery in Cambridge.

Visitaiton will be Friday, Oct. 17, 2014, from noon to 7 p.m. Memorials may be left in Lucille's name at the Lockenur-Jones Mortuary. Friends may leave on-line condolences at lockenour.com.
