CURTIS, Neb. -- Marcelline E. (Zwickl) Cole, 85, of Curtis, died Tuesday, Oct. 7, 2014, at Great Plains Health Care Center in North Platte, Nebraska.

She was born March 25, 1929, in Herndon, Kansas, to Bernard and Elizabeth (Kiaser) Green. She graduated from Herndon High School in 1947. She married Raymond Zwickl on Oct. 12, 1948, in Herndon. To this union they had six children, Bernie, Betty, Rosemary, Melvin, Jane and Patrick. Raymond passed away on Sept. 13, 1997.

She worked as a nurse aid at Sunset Haven from 1974 until the time it closed.

Marcy married Gene Cole on Jan. 6, 2006, at St. James Catholic Church in Curtis.

She is survived by her husband, Gene Cole, three daughters, Betty and husband, John Nothnagel of McCook, Nebraska, Rosemary and husband, Kenneth Higgins of Campobello, South Carolina, and Jane and husband, Fred Backer of McCook; two sons, Bernie Zwickl of Maywood, Nebraska, and Melvin "Joe" Zwickl of Exeter, Nebraska; one brother, Dan and wife, Nadine Green of Herndon and sister, Cecilia Green of Concordia, Kansas; 14 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Sherry and husband, Sam Zwickl-Baker of Wellfleet, Nebraska and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond; her son, Patrick Zwickl and three brothers, John, Leo and Barney.

Services will be at St. James Catholic Church, Friday, Oct. 10, 2014, at 11 a.m. with Rev. Harlan Waskowiak officiating.

Visitation will be at St. James Catholic Church, Curtis, Nebraska, on Thursday, Oct. 9, 2014, 1 to 7:30 pm with a Rosary at 7:30 p.m.

Burial will follow in the Maywood Cemetery, Maywood, Nebraska.
