KEARNEY, Neb. -- Doris M. Oleson, 94, of Kearney, died Saturday (Sept. 27, 2014), at Wel-Cov Assisted Living in Kearney.

She was born Jan. 2, 1920, at Nora, Nebraska, in Nuckolls County to Charley and Bertha (Wilson) Hamel. She married Ole Oleson Jr. on Jan. 4, 1942. They farmed northwest of Holbrook, Nebraska, for the next 36 years. She lived in central Nebraska in various towns until moving in 2011 to Wel-Cov Assisted Living in Kearney.

She was a member of United Methodist Church in Holbrook.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ole; son, Jan D. Oleson; brothers, Harold, Kenneth Ward, Orin and Ralph; and sisters, Mildred Buckert and Bernice Ross.

Survivors include her daughter-in-law, Betty Oleson-Sargent and husband, Curtis of Cozad, Nebraska; two grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Memorial services are Thursday, Oct. 2, 2014, 11 a.m. at United Methodist Church in Arapahoe, Nebraska, with the Rev. George Probasco officiating. Private inurnment is at the Holbrook Cemetery at Holbrook, Nebraska.

There is no viewing or visitation.
