DENVER, Colo. -- Ardis D. lbarra, 86, died Aug. 21, 2014, at home in Denver.

She was born Feb. 9, 1928, in McCook, Nebraska, to the late George Francis Drain and Marion Esther (Fassler) Drain. She graduated from Trenton High School in 1945 and moved to Denver to attend business college. She began her career as a secretary/receptionist for a private dental practice and later had several positions in the accounting and aviation department of the Denver-based Manville Corporation. After retiring, Ardis volunteered as a reading tutor at Holly Ridge Elementary School and served in many positions at Calvary Presbyterian Church in Denver.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Ronald Drain of Trenton.

Survivors include her sister, Patsy Pettera of Ludell, Kansas; brother, Harlan Drain of Sidney, Nebraska; children, Debra Ann Murphy of Phoenix, Arizona, George Arthur lbarra of Denver, Colorado, and Michael Anthony lbarra of Woodland Hills, California; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
