Donald LeRoy Randolph

McCOOK, Neb. -- Donald LeRoy Randolph passed away Friday, Sept. 19, 2014, at Hillcrest Nursing Home. He was 83 years old.

Donald was born on May 7, 1931, at Allison, Kansas, to Chester and Dorothy (Rhodes) Randolph. He graduated from Jennings High School, Jennings, Kansas, in 1949. He was drafted into the Army and stationed in France during the Korean War. He was honorably discharged.

Donald worked for the Seismograph Service Corp. for 36 years until his retirement, at which time he moved to Hoxie, Kansas. A short time later, he started helping his brother at the cement plant.

Among Donald's favorite pastimes were working in his garden, feeding the birds, his flowers, and watching sports on the television.

Donald eventually moved to assisted living in Hoxie, Kansas, then to Hillcrest Nursing Home i McCook when his health started to fail.

Preceding him in death were his parents; three brothers, Glenn, Dewey and Robert Randolph; and sister-in-law, Joan Randolph.

Survivors include sisters-in-law, Lois Randolph of Sugarland, Texas, and Maybelle Randolph of Hoxie; sister, Joan and husband, Gene Gerver, of McCook; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.

There will not be a public visitation as cremation was chosen. Friends may go online at www.carpenterbreland to extend condolences to the family.

Memorials may be given to the Allison Cemetery Fund in care of Joan Gerver.

There will not be a local service. A private family service will be later.
