OBERLIN, Kan. -- Janet J. Schuetz, 50, formerly of Oberlin, Kansas, died Thursday (Sept. 11, 2014), at Via Christi Village in Hays Kansas.

She was born Feb. 26, 1964, in Oberlin, to Jerry and Sharon (Rush) Schuetz. She graduated from Decatur Community High School in 1982 and from Fort Hays State University in 1986.

She was an IT specialist for the Natural Resources Conservation Service in Hays.

She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Oberlin, FHSU Alumni Association and Ellis County Cancer Society.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Iva Marie Schuetz and grandparents, Edna and Bob Rush and Anna and Al Schuetz.

Survivors include her parents, Jerry and Sharon Schuetz of Oberlin; two sisters, Kathy and husband, Stephen Campbell of Aurora, Colorado, and Lisa and Rick Johnson of Salina, Kansas, and four nephews.

Services are Tuesday, Sept. 16, 9:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Oberlin with the Rev. Mark Berland officiating. Interment is at the Oberlin Cemetery.

Visitation is today until 8 p.m. at Pauls Funeral Home in Oberlin.

Memorials may be given to the Cancer Council of Ellis County
