CURTIS, Neb. -- Muriel Janet Campbell, 79, of Curtis, Nebraska, died Sunday (Sept. 7, 2014), at home.
She was born Nov. 21, 1934, in McCook, Nebraska, to William and Mildred (Lepper) Koetter. She grew up in McCook and graduated from McCook High School in 1952. She married Eugene Campbell on July 3, 1952, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in McCook. While still in high school, she started working for the Northwestern Bell Telephone Company and continued working there until she and her husband moved to Curtis.
She was a member of St. James Catholic Church and the Alter Society.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Mildred Koetter.
Survivors include her husband, Eugene Campbell of Curtis; children, Catherine Campbell of Ainsworth, Nebraska, Calvin and wife, Linda Campbell of Maywood, Doug Campbell of Curtis, Diane Campbell and friend, Tom Keys of Ladonia, Texas, Ted and wife, Angie Campbell of Curtis, Tom and wife, Melisa Campbell of Curtis; brother, Bill Koetter of McCook; sisters, Norma and husband, Keith Boner, Mary and husband, Harry Lebsack, all of McCook, and Millie Koetter of Seneca, Nebraska; brothers-in-law, Carl Campbell and Melvin and wife, Ginger Campbell; sisters-in-law, Nora Mulberry, Barb and husband, Tom Kennedy and Sharon Campbell; 12 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Services are Wednesday, Sept. 10, 2014, at 10:30 a.m. at St. James Catholic Church in Curtis with the Rev. Harlan Waskowiak officiating.
Visitation is today until 6 p.m. with a Rosary at 6 p.m. at St. James Catholic Church.
Interment will follow in the Arbor Cemetery, Stockville, Nebraska.
Memorials may be given to the family at 74398 RD 395, Curtis, NE 69025, who will donate them to the Callahan Cancer Center in North Platte.
Blase Strauser Memorial Chapel in Curtis is in charge of arrangements.
