LINCOLN, Neb. -- Leon Dale Beckwith, age 93, of Lincoln, died on Aug. 20, 2014 in Lincoln.

He was born Nov. 23, 1920, in Culbertson, Nebraska, to Vernard and Iva (Ohlson) Beckwith. Leon graduated from Culbertson High School in 1939.

After high school , he worked for his father's trucking company, before moving to Oregon to work in the shipyards. Leon moved to Lincoln, Nebraska, in 1958 and worked as a furniture refinisher. Later, he and his brother, Bill, operated a furniture store.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Keith in 1955 and Lloyd "Bill" in 2007.

He is survived by three nieces.

Graveside services will be on Monday, Aug. 25, 2014, at 3 p.m. graveside at the Culbertson Cemetery with Pastor John Lewis officiating.

Herrmann-Jones Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
