OBERLIN, Kan. -- Galen E. Tacha, 83, of Jennings, Kansas, died Friday (Aug. 8, 2014), at Oberlin, Kansas.
He was born March 15, 1931, to Earl and Jessie (Stramp) Tacha. He grew up in Jennings and served in the U.S. Army,
He married Nadine Woolen Heilman Dec. 1, 1976, in Colby, Kansas. He was a farmer and a barber in Jennings and Rexford. He was a member of Jennings American Legion Post No. 351, Masonic Lodge, Shriners, Elks Lodge and Order of Eastern Star.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Jessie (Stramp) Tacha; brothers, Jack and Gerald Tacha and step- great-grandson, Teryn Haremza.
Survivors include his wife, Nadine Tacha of Jennings; stepson, Bill and wife, Lois Heilman of Jennings; stepdaughter, Starla and husband, Larry Swager of Guymon, Oklahoma; brothers, Harold "Bob" and wife, Neoma Tacha of Jennings and Allen Tacha of Norton, Kansas; three step-grandchildren and one step-great-grandson.
Services are Tuesday, Aug. 12, 2014, 2 p.m. at Pauls Funeral Home with the Rev. Ed Woods officiating. Interment is at the Jennings Cemetery.
Visitation is today until 8 p.m. and after 8 a.m. on Tuesday.
Memorials may be given to Jennings American Legion No. 351.
