Joyce Ann Trumbo

ALMENA, Kan. -- Joyce Ann Trumbo, 75, died Tuesday (July 22, 2014), at her home in Almena.

She was born Feb. 23, 1939, to Arthur L. and Sylva (Wicker) Whitney in Norton, Kansas.

She graduated from Almena Rural High School in 1957 and attended the Parks School of Business in Denver, Colorado.

She married Edward Trumbo on Aug. 28, 1960. They lived in California, Washington, Oregon, New Mexico, Nebraska, Georgia and Colorado, before returning to Kansas.

She was a retired manager of a temporary job service.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur L. and Sylva (Wicker) Whitney.

Survivors include her husband, James E. Trumbo of Almena; children, Timothy and wife, Tema Trumbo of St. Francis, Richard and wife, Kerrie Trumbo of Callaway, Nebraska, and Steven Trumbo of Salina; sister, Beth and husband, Delma Lee of Norton; sisters-in-law, Marcia Babbit and Arlene Boettcher; 10 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Graveside services are Friday, July 25, 2014, 10 a.m. at Mount Hope Cemetery in Almena with the Rev. James McCurdy officiating. Interment is at Mount Hope Cemetery.

Visitation is today until 8 p.m. at Pauls Funeral Home in Oberlin.
