REXFORD, Kan. -- Anogene Marie Rogers, 96, died Thursday (July 3, 2014), at Sheridan County Hospital in Hoxie, Kansas.

She was born Jan. 19, 1918, in Sheridan County, Kansas, to Gottfried and Sarah McDonald Mumm.

She was raised in the Selden-Rexford area. She graduated from Selden Rural High School in 1938. He married H.E. "Gene" Rogers on June 21, 1941, in Selden. She was a homemaker.

She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and St. Ann's Altar Society.

She was preceded in death by parents, Gottfried and Sarah (McDonald) Mumm; husband, Gene Rogers; infant son, William; four brothers, Gottfried Bernard Mumm, Paul, Hubert, and Fredrick; and two sisters, Juliann Mumm and Alberta Ritter.

Survivors include children, Jim Rogers of Hoxie, Steve and wife, Judy Rogers of Selden and Eileen and husband, Harold Murphy of Selden; three brothers, Charles "Bud" and wife, Vicky Mumm of Gem, Kansas, Clem and wife, Pat Mumm of Colby, Kansas, and Kenneth Mumm of Selden; six sisters, Josephine Douglas of Greeley, Colorado, Eleanor Rogers of Selden, Margaret Roy of Atwood, Delores Raile of Hoxie, Clara and husband, Richard Newton of Aurora, Colorado, and Judy and husband, Gordon Smith of Greeley, Colorado; sister-in-law, Gail Mumm of Selden; five grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Services were today, July 7, 2014, 10:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Selden.

Visitation was Sunday, July 6, 2014, at Pauls Funeral Home in Selden. Vigil was Sunday night and Monday morning.
