ESA Foundation awards $600 scholarship

McCOOK, Nebraska -- A spring graduate of McCook, Nebraska, Senior High has received a college scholarship from Epsilon Sigma Alpha Foundation.
The $600 scholarship presented to Hannah Goss June 19 by ESA Foundation representative Sunya Decker of McCook is one of 191 ESA Foundation scholarships, valued at $238,650, presented this spring to post-secondary students world-wide.
Hannah is the daughter of Richard and Kelly Goss, and she plans to study art at McCook Community College for two years and then continue her education to become a high school art teacher.
Hannah wrote in her scholarship application, "When I look into my future, art is the only thing I can really see myself doing. It's been my biggest joy and comfort throughout my life. I hope to share the joy and comfort I have found with others; that is why my chosen career profession is art education."
Hannah's scholarship was one of two ESA Endowment scholarships presented to high school graduates in Nebraska. The other recipient is Julie Slama of Peru, who will attend Yale University to study ethics, politics and economics. She wants to become a corporate lawyer.
The ESA Foundation administers more than 100 perpetual name endowments and scholarship available to post-secondary students world-wide. Some scholarships are available to non-traditional students who need continuing education to acquire new skills or update present skills.
