Christopher 'Cowboy' M. Stevens

McCOOK, Neb. -- Christopher "Cowboy" M. Stevens, age 41, died in McCook on June 14, 2014 after a hard three-year struggle.

He was born in Omaha, Nebraska, on Sept. 8, 1971, to Van and Rita (Ankenman) Stevens.

Christopher enjoyed bronc riding in his younger years and always wanted to be outdoors with cattle. He had been employed as an over-the-road truck driver hauling cattle and chopping feed or hauling grain. He played hard and worked hard, often spending 12 to 15 hours a day ranching or farming. He has been working in the high country of North Dakota for the last year, hauling cattle and ranching.

Christopher was married to Denys Lawson and to this union one child was born, Savanah.

He was preceded in death by father, Van Stevens; his brothers, Rickie and Joel Bose; and grandparents, Charles Ankenman and Margaret Stevens.

He is survived by his children, Patricia, Joey and Savanah and wife, Denys Stevens of Kearney, Nebraska; parents, Rick and Rita Bose of Cambridge; brothers, David, Ron, Dale and Damon Bose; and grandparents, Dorothy Ankenman, Floyd and Iris Bose

Funeral services will be at the Lockenour-Jones Mortuary in Cambridge, Nebraska, on Thursday June 19, 2014, at 11 a.m. with Johnny Walker officiating. A private family inurnment will take place at a later date.

Visitation will be on today, June 18, from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. at Lockenour-Jones Mortuary. Friends may leave on-line condolences at lockenour.com.
