McCOOK, Neb. -- Geneva Elaine Cain of McCook passed away Monday, May 12, 2014 at Community Hospital. She was 94 years old.
Geneva was born on Aug. 25, 1919, at Kansas City, Missouri, to parents, Louis O. and Effie "Pearl" (Baugher) Fox. She attended McCook Public Schools and received her GED in 1980.
On Aug. 29, 1936, she was united in marriage to Daniel Willard "Bill" Cain in Oberlin, Kansas. They lived most of their married life on a farm near McCook. Geneva was a busy homemaker and mother of five children.
She was a long-time member of the First Christian Church and later became a member of Grace Baptist Church. She was also a member of the Homemakers Extension Club. She enjoyed gardening, her flowers, sewing, cooking and baking, embroidery work and spending time with her family.
Preceding her in death were her husband, Bill Cain; her parents, Louis and Pearl Fox; granddaughter, Terra Renee' Foster; five brothers, Clinton (Jessie), Virgil (Eva), Vernon, Lyle (Betty) and Jess (Leona) Fox; and sister-in-law, Vivian (Steve) Hockman.
Survivors include her children, Jesse Edward Cain, Sylvia Joyce Cain, Dennis Daniel Cain, Wesley Dale Cain and wife, Nadine, all of McCook and Cindy and husband, Michael Stark, of North Platte; brother, Raymond Gene Fox of Anaheim, California; sister-in-law, Sally Fox of Spokane Valley, Washington; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Lois Cain of McCook; many nieces, nephews and a host of family and friends.
Memorials may be given in her name.
Visitation will be Wednesday, May 14, 2014 from 1-8 p.m. at Carpenter Breland Funeral Home.
Services will be at Grace Baptist Church in McCook on Thursday, May 15, 2014, 11 a.m. with Jerry Beckenhauer officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
