June Rose Grossman

MCCOOK, Neb. -- June Rose Grossman, age 93, passed away Tuesday, May 6, 2014, at Community Hospital of McCook.

June was born on June 1, 1920, in Norcatur, Kansas. She graduated from Lebanon High School in 1938.

On Nov. 26, 1939, she married Robert M. Grossman in Oberlin, Kansas.

She worked at JC Penney for 42 years, retiring in 1993. She enjoyed spending time with her family, bowling, helping with community fund raisers and fishing. In the summer she had a large garden and canned many of her goods. In the winter, she helped Robert with his snow removal business.

Survivors include her son, Jimmy Grossman of McCook; sister, Letha of Oregon; six grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and five great- great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert; sons, Donald in infancy and Billy.

Visitation will be Friday, May 9, 2014, from 1-8 p.m. at Carpenter Breland Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 10, 2014, at Carpenter Breland Funeral Home with Rev. Steve Bales officiating. Burial will take place in the Danbury-Marion Cemetery.
