McCOOK, Nebraska -- Maxine Jones-Fuller, age 83 of McCook, died April 28, 2014, at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney.
She was born in Lead, South Dakota, on July 9, 1930 to Charlie and Goldie (Ayers) Chilston. As an infant, Maxine moved from South Dakota to McCook. On Feb. 3, 1945, she was united in marriage to Eugene Leroy Jones. He preceded her in death on July 12, 1976. Maxine later married Eldon Fuller in 1988, who preceded her in death.
Maxine was employed for 43 years at Mac's Drive-in. She was a people person, enjoying helping neighbors and any person in need. She was an excellent seamstress, making clothing for her three daughters . She also enjoyed embroidery. In 1958, she was baptized and became a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She was a primary teacher for youth.
Maxine was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Eugene and Eldon; daughter, Teresa M. Miller; grandson, Logan Lee Richards; brother, Delbert Chilston and a son-in-law, Orville Short.
Maxine is survived by her two daughters, Letty Jane and husband, Thomas Lee Richards and Janice Lee Short, all of McCook; step-daughter, Kristi and husband, Terle Slansky of Kearney, Nebraska; step-son, Greg Fuller of Rifle, Colorado; 10 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in McCook on Friday, May 2, 2014, at 12:30 p.m. with President Jason Blomstedt officiating. Interment will be in the Riverview Cemetery in McCook.
Visitation will be Wednesday and Thursday, from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. The casket will not be opened at the church.
