WHEAT RIDGE, Col0. -- Deanna "Dee" Kay DeMoss, age 72, passed away on Friday, April 18, 2014, at her home in Wheat Ridge.
Deanna was born Feb. 22, 1942, in Lebanon, Nebraska, to Donald Everett DeMoss and Majorie Elaine DeMoss (Sonday). She was one of five children.
Dee graduated in 1960 from Beaver Valley High School in Lebanon. Deanna married Larry Bruening and to this union three children were born. Deanna moved to Denver and began her career working at a stationary shop in the city. Eventually she moved into office management at Leprino Foods, where she spent many years and took great pride in her work.
Deanna loved flowers of all kinds, plants, birds and butterflies. She had beautiful gardens, which gave her much joy. She kept herself busy with crafting, quilting, embroidery, scrapbooking and painting. She enjoyed going to plays and treasured colleting teapots, teacups and spoons.
She was preceded in death by her father, Donald DeMoss; stepfather, Leo Hartmen; brother, Darold DeMoss and beloved son, Robert "Bobby" Bruening.
She is survived by her mother, Marjorie Elaine Hartmen and two daughters, Cynthia "Cindy" Kay Mattivi and husband, Fred and Christine "Chrissy" Ann Lefler and husband. Stacy; three sisters, Joannna Heronema and husband, Ed, Debra Daily and Brenda Kincaid and husband, Arleigh; seven grandchildren, Heather Peterson, Apryl Guzman, Casey Mattivi, Lauren Lefler, Robyn Mattivi, Kyle Lefler and Kayla Lefler; six great-grandchildren, Tiffany Peterson, Angel Guzman, Xavier Guzman, Ashley Peterson, Isabella Guzman and Lexi Jackson, along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
A private viewing for the immediate family was Tuesday at Malesich and Shirey Funeral Home. A public memorial service was at the Butterfly Pavilion on Wednesday, April 23, at 5:30 p.m., located at 6252 W 104th Ave., Westminster, CO,. 80020. Final resting place will be at Lebanon Cemetery in Lebanon, Nebraska.

As a result of caring blood donors, we were given several more years with our mother, daughter, sister, grandma and friend, for which we are eternally grateful.
