ATWOOD, Kansas -- Bernard J. Horinek died Tuesday (April 22, 2014), at Atwood.

He was born March 23, 1913, to Rudolph and Agnes (Janoucek) Horinek and grew up in Rawlins County, Kansas.

He married Martha F. (Holub) Horinek on Aug. 11, 1936.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Martha.

Survivors include children, Bernie, Jim, Caroline, Barbara, Marleen, Linda, Diane, Verjean and Sharon.

Services are Friday, April 25, 2014, at 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Atwood. Interment is at Saint Cryil and Methodius Cemetery in Rawlins County.

Visitation is 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, April 24, followed by a Vigil at 7 p.m. at Baalmann Mortuary in Atwood.

Memorials may be given to Good Samaritan Home or Rawlins County Hospice of Atwood.

Baalmann Mortuary, at 109 N. 2nd Street in Atwood, Kansas, is in charge of arrangements.
