BEAVER CITY Nebraska -- Luella Marie Harrold, 84, of Beaver City, died Tuesday (April 15, 2014), at Phelps Memorial Hospital in Holdrege, Nebraska.

She was born on Oct. 17, 1929, on the family farm in Furnas County, Nebraska, to Walter and Opal (Covington) Gerd.

She attended school at Stamford High School and graduated in 1947. She married Donald D. Harrold on Dec. 2, 1950. She worked at the ASCS office in Beaver City for 33 years. They moved to Oxford, Nebraska in 1974, and remained there until 2011, when she moved to the Beaver City Manor because of health problems.

She was a member of First Baptist Church and Joy Circle of Oxford, Nebraska.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Donald, son, Jerry Harrold; daughter-in-law, Cindy Harrold; sister-in-law, Mildred Barker; brother-in-law, Robert Blees; and great-granddaughter, Rachael Harrold.

Survivors include her children, Bill Harrold of Albuquerque, New Mexico, and Tom and wife, Jan Harrold of Holdrege, Nebraska; sister, Donna Blees of Alma, Nebraska; sisters-in-law, Pauline Huff of Loveland, Colorado, and Carol Theobald of Beaver City; four grandchildren and five great- grandchildren.

Funeral services are Saturday, April 19, 2014, 10:30 a.m. at First Baptist Church in Oxford, Nebraska, with the Rev. Brian Jenkins officiating. Interment will be at Mount Hope Cemetery at Beaver City.

Viewing and visitation is Friday, April 18, 2014, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Wenburg Funeral Home in Beaver City and prior to the service at the church.
