MHS students take honors in video contest
McCOOK, Nebraska -- Students at McCook High School showed that they have school spirit in spades during a statewide video contest.
The contest was sponsored by GPC-TV, Great Plains Communications' family of local TV channels, to support school athletic programs. Students from schools across the state entered YouTube video shorts created by high school sport teams that showcased their school spirit. The contest received nearly a dozen entries.
McCook High School took second and third place in the Pump It Up Video Contest. The funds were presented to the school's athletic department on Friday, April 11th. Together, the award totaled $450.
Each year, GPC-TV airs hundreds of hours of local high school sports from the communities it serves. "We were overwhelmed by McCook's enthusiasm during this contest. Every year, McCook provides us with a wealth of valuable content and they kept up the same level of quality in their submissions. They truly deserve this win," said Casey Garrigan of Great Plains Communications.
