Doris l. Mosher

McCOOK, Nebraska -- Doris l. Mosher, age 91, of McCook, Nebraska, died at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney on April 1, 2014.

She was born in McCook on May 25, 1922, to Clyde and Jessie (Beebe) Bortner. She attended country school and graduated from UNSTA at Curtis, Nebraska, in 1941. Doris worked as a telephone operator when she first met Evert. On July 3, 1943, she was united in marriage to Evert Mosher. He preceded her on death on July 26, 2011.

Doris and Evert made their home on a farm north of McCook on the Red Willow Creek. She was a member of the Eastern Star Chapter Eureka 86. Doris was active in the Garden Prairie Church north of McCook; working the farmers market and many other fund raising activities. She enjoyed puzzles, was an avid reader of western novels and a card player. She made doll furniture out of tin cans, fabric painted quilts and throws for family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Evert; brother, Melvin and wife, Barbara Bortner; grandson, Michael Foxworthy and granddaughter, Tiffany Dawn Mosher.

She is survived by her daughter, Gloria and husband, Darold Foxworthy of Parker, Colorado; two sons, Dan Mosher of McCook and Ed and wife, Edie of Cheyenne, Wyoming; 10 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at the Garden Prairie Church of McCook on Tuesday, April 8, 2014, at 10a.m. with Pastor Bonnie Forney officiating. Eastern Star service for burial will be performed by the Eureka Chapter.

Interment will be at the Fort McPherson National Cemetery at 2 p.m. Tuesday afternoon.
