Letha Wynona Sailors

May 19, 1919 - March 27, 2014

McCOOK, Nebraska -- On March 27, 2014, Letha Wynona Sailors entered her heavenly home to be with her Lord and Savior. She was 94 years old.

Letha was born on May 19, 1919, to Frank S. and Nelly J. Graves in Hamlet, Nebraska. She graduated from Hamlet High School in 1938, and was soon after married to John J. Sailors on May 31st of the same year. In 1940, John and Letha welcomed their firstborn daughter, Karla LuWann. Soon after moving to Littleton, Colorado, they welcomed the birth of their second daughter, Jaunetta Anell in 1944. The Sailors family then returned to Hamlet in 1947, where John was a business manager for the Hamlet Co-op Elevator for nearly 30 years.

Letha spent most of her life in the Hamlet community as a devoted wife and loving mother and role model to their two daughters. She faithfully served the Hamlet Union Church and was an active member of the Dorcas Circle.

Letha was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Kenneth Graves and Dorthea Ward. She was also preceded in death by husband, John J. Sailors and her daughter and son-in-law, Karla and John Hermann.

She is survived by her daughter, Jaunetta Strohmyer and husband, Dr. Harry Strohmyer of Cypress, California; granddaughters, Chelsi Wilson and husband, Mark and their sons, Zack and Parker of Cypress, California; Mandy Revell and husband, Dr. Tim Revell and their sons, Noah and Evan of Seal Beach, California; Sandra Dawn Gutierrez and husband, Mark of Thornton, Colorado; Laurie Jeanne Hansen and husband, Kyle and their daughters, Ashleigh and Brooke Hansen of Broomfield, Colorado; and Jauna Kay McCormick and her children, Connor and Brooklyn McCormick of Broomfield, Colorado.

Funeral services will be at the Hamlet Union church in Hamlet, Nebraska, today, April 1, 2014, at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Kevin McGraw officiating. Interment will be in the Hamlet Cemetery.
