WENATCHEE, Washington -- Gregory "Greg" J. Koepke, 48, passed away on Tuesday, March 25, 2014, at home with his loved ones by his side.

He was born on Sept. 18, 1965 in Long Beach, California, to Kenneth and Marcia (Pickett) Koepke. He grew up in Holdrege, Nebraska, where he graduated from Holdrege High School in 1984. In 1988, he graduated from Kearney State College in Kearney, Nebraska, with a biology degree. Then he graduate from Hays medical technology program in Hays, Kansas.

He went into the ROTC Program with the U.S. Army during his college years and continued in the Reserves for 20 years, retiring as a major in 2009. He was deployed overseas in Kosovo, Afghanistan, and Qatar during his military career.

Greg moved to Wenatchee in 2003, where he was employed at Central Washington Hospital as a medical technologist.

On June 23, 2006 he married Jolanta Hrynacz in Wenatchee. Greg lived his life to the fullest and was blessed with meeting his soul mate, Jolanta, and four amazing children. He loved the outdoors, sking, biking, boating and spending time with family and friends.

He is survived by his loving wife, Jolanta Koepke of Wenatchee; his children, Madison Koepke of Lincoln, Nebraska, Mallory Koepke of McCook, Nebraska, James Koepke of Wenatchee and Adam Zukowski of Wenatchee; his mother, Marcia and step-father, Art Remington of Lincoln, Nebraska; his sister, Libby (Mark) Hoffmeyer of Lincoln, Nebraksa; his step-brother, Nels (Ann) Oberg of Rochester, Michigan; his step-sister, Anne (Kevin) Landhuis of Ankeny, Iowa; nephew, Blake Hoffmeyer, niece, Amber Hoffmeyer, both of Lincoln, Nebraska; uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth Koepke, step-father, Roland Oberg, grandparents and aunt.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 1 p.m., Saturday, March 29, 2014, at Holy Apostles Catholic Church in East Wenatchee. Burial will be held in Stamford, Nebraska, at a later date.
