SELDEN, Kansas -- Wendell A "Bud" Rogers, 91, died Sunday (March 23, 2014), at Decatur Health Systems in Oberlin, Kansas.
He was born Nov. 28, 1922, in Sheridan County, Kasas to Roy L. and Eva (Cole) Rogers. He attended Sheridan County country school. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
He married Tressie M. Bailey on March 7, 1942, in Colby, Kansas. He was a cattle buyer and lived in Selden, moving to Cedar Living Center in Oberlin in 2013.
He was a member of the Baptist Church and the Masonic Lodge.
He was preceded in death by parents, Roy L. and Eva (Cole) Rogers; brothers, Wilbur, Virgil, Ranard and Kenneth; and sister, Violet Pinkard;
Survivors include his wife, Tressie Rogers of Cedar Living Center, Oberlin; children, Roy and wife, Deb Rogers of North Platte, Nebraska, Terry and wife, Sue Rogers of Lincoln, Nebraska, and Shirley and husband, Gary Emigh of Selden; sisters, Wilburma and husband, John Gage of Powell Buttes, Oregon, and Lyla Johnston of Olympia, Washington; 12 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.
Services are Wednesday, March 26, 2014, at Pauls Funeral Home in Selden. Interment is at the Selden Cemetery.
Visitation is Tuesday 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. and after 8 a.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home in Selden. Condolences may be left at www.paulsfh.com
