BEAVER CITY, Nebraska -- Betty Louise Robinson, 83, of Beaver City, died Monday (March 3, 2014), at Christian Homes Health Care Center in Holdrege, Nebraska.
She was born to Henry W. and Ruby F. (Thomas) Taylor on Aug. 25, 1930, southeast of Beaver City, on the Moses Thomas farm.
She graduated from Beaver City High School in 1947. She married George Eldon Robinson on Aug. 21, 1949, in Norton, Kansas. She taught at several country schools in the Beaver City area. She was a delegate to the Great Plains Annual Conference and Great Plains Conference History Committee. She and her husband, George, farmed in the area. After retiring from teaching, she and her husband owned and operated Lucky R Drive-In in Beaver City from 1973 to 1991. In 2012, they re-purchased and opened The Lucky R. Other jobs she worked at were Becton Dickinson of Holdrege, Swanson Turkey Processing of Oxford, the Beaver City Locker Plant and the Beaver City Manor, where she served as care staff member and activities director
She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Joe Henry Robinson and brother, Henry Allen Taylor.
She is survived by her husband, George Eldon Robinson of Beaver City; children, Kathy and husband, Wes Wilmot of Beaver City, Don and wife, Pat Robinson of Arapahoe, Nebraska, and Becky Robinson of Beaver City; sister, Judy Nickell of Beaver City; 10 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services are Thursday, March 6, 2014, at 1:30 p.m. at the Seventh day Adventist Church in Beaver City with the Revs. Steve Sturtevent and Keith Theobald officiating. Interment will be at Mount Hope Cemetery at Beaver City.
Viewing and visitation is Wednesday, March 5, 2014, from 10 a.m. to till 5 p.m. at Wenburg Funeral Home in Beaver City, with the family greeting the public from 6-8 p.m. at the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Beaver City.
