Todd Alan Grimm

Feb. 1, 1981 - Feb. 9, 2014

GOTHENBURG, Nebraska -- Todd Alan Grimm, age 33, born Feb. 1, 1981, in Chadron, Nebraska, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family in Gothenburg, Sunday afternoon, Feb. 9, 2014.

Todd grew up in a number of small towns in Nebraska; Silver Creek, Harvard and Stromsburg. He was an excellent student and enjoyed playing sports with basketball being his favorite. Todd made friends easily and was always very popular with both students and teachers. He was very outgoing, incredibly funny, an outstanding drummer, did amazing impersonations of actors, musicians and friends, was always respectful, and very sympathetic to how others were feeling.

Todd attended Central Community College in Hastings, Nebraska, for two years studying communications. He mainly worked in the restaurant business working in food preparation and cooking. He lived in Los Angeles for a few years pursuing the dream of becoming a professional drummer. His grandfather, Bob Todd, always thought Todd should go into entertainment because of his ability to make people laugh and the incredible spot-on impersonations he was able to do. Todd missed his family while in California and returned to Lincoln, Nebraska, where he resumed working in the restaurant business.

Todd enjoyed watching professional wrestling, the Chicago Bulls, the North Carolina Tar Heels and the San Francisco 49ers. He enjoyed hiking. He loved music and was always singing songs from Rock to Country to Disney cartoons. He was very generous and fun to be around.

He is survived by his father, Alan Grimm of Harrison, Nebraska; his mother, Linda (Rev. Dr. Jeff) Thurman of Gothenburg; his siblings, Elizabeth (Monte) Roetman, Crystal (Doug) Hampton, Karyl (Travis) Mason, Joel (Lauren) Thurman and Tabitha Thurman; his grandparents, Dorothy Todd and Mary Ellen Semroska; seven nieces and nephews as well as aunts, uncles, and numerous cousins.

He was proceeded in death by his grandparents, Robert Todd and Robert Grimm.

Although Todd's untimely death is very sad, he was a believer in Jesus who faithfully practiced the only commandant Jesus ever gave us, "Love one another as I have loved you."

His memorial service will be Friday, February 14, at 11 a.m. at First United Methodist Church of Gothenburg with the Rev. Alan Davis officiating.

Blase Strauser Memorial Chapel in Curtis, Nebraska is in charge of arrangements.
