MCCOOK, Nebraska -- Delores Rae Buckley age 83, of McCook, died at the Highland Park Retirement Community in McCook on Tuesday, Jan. 28, 2014.
She was born in Bayard, Nebraska, on June 10, 1930, to Eugene and Goldie (Clary) Pinske. Delores attended school in Bayard and graduated from Bayard High School in 1948. She attended nursing school in Alliance for one year.
On June 10, 1949, she was united in marriage to Lewis Buckley, he preceded her in death on Sept. 7, 1999. To this union six children were born: Cathy, Janelle, Tamara, David, Jay and Richard. The couple lived in Scottsbluff until 1965, when the family moved to McCook. Delores worked as a nurse's aide for many years.
Delores and Lewis traveled with his work, but she was very family oriented, attending many of the grandchildren's school events and athletic events.
Delores was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Altar Society, the Merry Misses Club and the Family Frolic Square Dancers. She enjoyed baking, cake decorating, reading, sewing and square dancing.
Delores was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lewis; a son, Richard; grandson, Nathanial Buckley and sister, Jane Ellen Van Noy.
She leaves to mourn her three daughters, Cathy and husband, Dr. Warren Jones of McCook, Janelle and husband, Jeff Stoller of Thornton, Colorado and Tamara Scott of McCook; two sons, David and wife, Debbie Buckley of Minneola, Kansas and Jay Buckley and wife, Monica Carmona Buckley of Cambridge, Nebraska; 14 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; a sister, Florence Kay and husband, Tom Franke of Council Grove, Kansas; a brother, Richard Pinske of Las Vegas, Nevada, and daughter-in-law, Char Buckley of McCook..
Rosary will be recited at the Herrmann-Jones Funeral Chapel on Friday, Jan. 31, 2014, at 7:30 p.m. with Father Gary Brethour.
Mass of Christian Burial will be on Saturday, Feb. 1, 2014, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in McCook with Father Gary Brethour officiating. Interment will be in the Calvary Catholic Cemetery in McCook.
Visitation will be on Thursday from 1 to 6 p.m. and Friday, from 9 a.m. until after the rosary. Friend's may leave on-line condolences at herrmannfh.com.
Memorials may be left to St. Patrick's Catholic School, St. Patrick's Catholic Church or Highland Park Retirement Community of McCook.
