BENKELMAN, Nebraska -- Vada Burkhalter, 95, of Benkelman and a former long-time resident of Bird City, Kansas, died Wednesday (Jan. 22, 2014), at the Hester Home in Benkelman.

Funeral services are 10 a.m. (MT), Monday, Jan. 27, 2014, at the Benkelman Community Building in Benkelman with the Rev. Jim Gleason and Dr. Lonnie Willis officiating. Interment will follow at the Benkelman cemetery.

Visitation is from 2-6 p.m. (MT), Sunday, Jan, 26, 2014, at the Benkelman Community Building.

Memorials may be given to the Hester Home, Gideons International or the Bird City, Kansas EMTs.
