RAPID CITY, South Dakota --Kenneth Lealand Fegley died Tuesday (Jan. 7, 2014), at Rapid City Regional Hospital in Rapid City.

He was born Oct. 27, 1916, to Lynn and Lucy (Childs) Fegley at home near Norden, Nebraska.

He married Berdena I. McConnell on April 29, 1944, in Ainsworth, Nebraska. They lived and worked on the ranch south of Ainsworth until 1965, when for health reasons they moved into Ainsworth where they lived for 40 years. He was an assistant veterinarian until retirement.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Berdena; parents, Lynn and Lucy Fegley; brothers, Ronald and Billy Fegley; grandson, Ricky Fegley and great-grandson, Kamron Fegley.

Survivors include children, Richard and and wife, Carol Fegley of Indianola, Nebraska and Sharon and husband, Don Deutsch of Rapid City, South Dakota; two sisters, Lois Pratt of Indianapolis, Indiana and Donabelle Woods of Canby, Oregon; sisters-in-law, Mahel Fegley of Bassett, Nebraska, Glenda Spies of North Platte, Nebraska and Donna McConnell of Deming, New Mexico; 10 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.

Memorial services with full military honors will be Saturday, Jan. 11, 2014, at the Hock Funeral Home in Ainsworth with interment at the Ainsworth Cemetery.
