SUN CITY WEST, Arizona -- Donald Charles Liess died Jan. 1, 2014.

He was born to Fred and Marie (Powers) Liess in Red Willow County and graduated from McCook High School in 1952.

He served in the in the U.S. Army from 1953 to 1955.

He married Dolores Weintz in 1955, Leona Geyer in 1966 and Dorothy Barber in 1991.

He worked in the insurance field until he retired in 1991.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Marie Liess; wives, Dolores and Leona; and sister, Elda Holloway.

Survivors include his wife, Dorothy; twin sons, Fritz Liess and Frank and wife, Puanani Liess; stepdaughters, Cindy and husband, Larry Tibbles, Linda and husband, John Behnke and Brenda and husband, Shane Bailey; sisters, Rita Trimble and Carol and husband, Harold Erickson; brother, Richard and wife, Sherlyn Liess; brother-in-law, Ralph Holloway; 10 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
