ST. FRANCIS, Kansas -- Harold Melvin "Mux" Johnson, 81, died Thursday (Jan 2, 2014), at the Good Samaritan Society in St. Francis, Kansas.

He was born Jan. 7, 1932, in Rawlins County, Kansas.

He was a truck driver.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Raoma (Pervis) Johnson in 2012; and his daughter, Christina Johnson.

Survivors include sons, Ray Johnson of Bird City, Kansas and Alan Johnson of Goodland, Kansas; brother, Merle Johnson of Texas; sister, Dorothy Chipperfield of Bird City, Kansas; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Services were Monday, Jan. 6, 2014, 2 p.m. CST at the Wesleyan Community Church in Bird City. Burial was at the Bird City Cemetery.

Visitation was Sunday, 1-6 p.m., at Knodel Funeral Home and prior to the service at the church.

Memorials may be given to Hospice Services or to the church.

Knodel Funeral Home, at 202 S. Benton in St. Francis, Kansas, is in charge of arrangements.
