Text, phone scam calls received

McCOOK, Nebraska -- The McCook Police Department has received several complaints about citizens receiving text messages or phone calls having to do with their Wells Fargo bank accounts, with a number the citizen is supposed to call.

This is a scam and recipients of such messages are urged not to call the number provided. However, if you have a question, contact your bank directly and speak to an account representative there.

The McCook Police Department is reminding everyone that they should be diligent about protecting their personal information to mindful when asked to give it out online or over the phone. If there are other questions or concerns, citizens can contact the McCook Police Department at (308) 345-3450.
