McCOOK, Nebraska -- The McCook School Board of Education will be asked to approve the resignation of a long-time administrator and accept a donation for the wrestling program, at its regular meeting Monday, 6:30 p.m. at the Junior HIgh conference room.

Dennis Berry, principal at McCook Junior High, has submitted his resignation. He wrote in his resignation letter that he has spent almost four decades in the education field, including 27 years at McCook.

Earlier in the year, Berry, who is McCook mayor, announced his candidacy for Dist. 44 state senator in the Nebraska Legislature.

The board will also receive a $900 donation from Earth Sound Inc. (Jim Kenny) to be used for the MHS wrestling team, for a mat lamp hoist in the high school gym.

Administrator comments includes a report on the State of Schools, the commissioner search and school retirement.

McCook Public Schools business manager Rick Haney will also present information concerning new bleachers at the high school.

After the regular meeting, the board will meet in closed session to discuss negotiations concerning personnel.
