Vicki Kirby
ULYSSES, Kansas --Vicki Kirby, 68, died Saturday (Nov. 30, 2013) at The Legacy at Park View in Ulysses.
She was born Sept. 27, 1945, in Cheyenne Wells, Colorado, the daughter of Russell and Mary Lou (Johnson) Ryser.
Vicki grew up and graduated in Cheyenne Wells, Colorado. She married Carl David Kirby in Colorado Springs, Colorado. She was a bookkeeper and had lived in various places including Alaska for ten years, and 13 years in Mora, New Mexico.
Vicki was very devoted to her work and was the manager of a golf course for a year. She also loved to cook. Vicki moved two and a half years ago to Ulysses to be closer to family.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Carl; and sister, Dana Gerstner.
She is survived by her step-son Jon Kirby; brothers, Randall Ryser and wife Shirley of McCook, Nebraska, Kelly Ryser and wife Karen of Mora, New Mexico; sisters, Pat Feezor and husband, Marvin of Ulysses, Kansas, Carmen Medina and husband, Jess of Sublette, Kansas; four grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
Rosary service will be at 9:30 a.m. and memorial mass will be at 10 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 13, 2013, at Mary, Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Ulysses with the Rev. Peter Fernandez officiating. Inurnment will be in May at the Christmas Tree Canyon Cemetery in Mora, New Mexico.
