Community Hospital in McCook sponsors 'Buckle up Baby!' car seat event Nov. 9
McCook, Nebraska--Community Hospital in conjunction with Safe Kids Platte Valley hosted the Buckle up Baby! car seat event on Nov. 9 at the McCook Fire Department. Community Hospital had five certified technicians who conducted the event including Tera Boyd, Jessica Johnson, Tim Monzon, Marilyn Wilson, and Teri Barnard.
Teri Barnard was the event's senior checker who is responsible for double-checking each seat for correct fit prior to participants leaving.During this event 11 car seats were checked. Certified car seat technician Tera Boyd was pleased with their attendance.
"We felt this was a success and hope to check even more seats in future events," she said. Community Hospital plans to hold car seat checks on a quarterly basis. They are completely free.
"We would like to extend our gratitude to the McCook Fire Department for letting our team use their new facility for this event. They were great to work with," Boyd said. The ambulance bays allow the team to conduct the checks regardless of weather.
The next event will be in February with exact dates to be released later. The team strongly encourages people to make appointments to guarantee a time slot, however this is not mandatory. Appointments last about 30 minutes per car seat. Please call (308) 344-8525 for more information.
