The many reactions to Santa Claus
Depending upon the age of the child, Santa Claus is either a jolly old elf who brings candy and toys, or a strange face who brings on fear and tears. After landing at the McCook, Nebraska, airport Saturday morning, Santa lent an ear to 3-year-old Ashlyn Bauman, the daughter of Sydney and Randy Bauman. above right, of McCook, and to 4-year-old Asher and 3-year old Abel Wilson, top. However, Asher's and Abel's little sister, Annabelle, 11⁄2 years old, felt much safer in mom's arms. The three are the children of Drew and Tausha Wilson of McCook. Three-year-old Addilynn Hitt, above left, visited with Santa, but from a distance, within the safety of mom's arms. Addilynn's mom and dad are Mike and Angela, of Danbury. Santa's visit in McCook was hosted by the McCook Area Chamber of Commerce.
