OBERLIN, Kansas -- Marylu Brown, 86, of Oberlin, died Saturday, (Nov. 23, 2013), at Decatur County Good Samaritan Society in Oberlin.
She was born Oct. 21, 1927, in McCook, Nebraska, to Andrew and Chloe (Johnson) Anderson. She grew up in the Oberlin and McCook area.
She graduated from Decatur Community High School. She married Floyd Brown Sept. 19, 1948, in Junction City, Kansas.
She was a member of Sappa Valley 4-H and Calico Gals club.
She was preceded in death by infant daughter, Kay Lone Brown and husband, Floyd Brown.
Survivors include children, Dan Brown, of Oberlin, David Brown and wife, Tammy of Olathe, Kansas, Julie Johnson and husband, Rick of Leawood, Kansas, Jennifer Phillips and husband, Tom, of Seattle, Washington, Barbara Custer and husband, Duane of Salina, Kansas, and Karmel Hutfles of Kearney, Nebraska; sisters, Amy Rehm and Alice Avery, of Oberlin; 11 grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Services are Wednesday, Nov. 27, 2013, 10 a.m. at Pauls Funeral Home with the Rev. Judy Sticker officiating. Interment is at the Oberlin Cemetery.
Visitation is Tuesday, 8 a,m to 8 p.m. and Wednesday, 8 a.m. to service time.
Memorials may be given to the Decatur County Good Samaritan Center
