McCOOK, Nebraska -- Delphia Nowels, 93, formerly of Oberlin, Kansas, died Sunday (Nov. 17, 2013), at Willow Ridge in McCook.

She was born June 15, 1920, in Leader, Colorado, to William and Lula Connell Davis. She was raised on a farm northwest of Norcatur, Kansas.

She attended school in Mount Vernon, rural Norcatur and Knapp's Busness College in Tacoma, Washington.

She lived in Tacoma, Denver, Colorado, Oberlin Norton, Kansas, and McCook.

She married Eugene Edgar Nowels on Dec. 30, 1961. She worked in civil service in Tacoma.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband and four siblings, Clifford Davis, George "Rusty" Davis, Merna Wurm, and Merle Babb.

Survivors include her son, William (Sandy) Rounsley of Minden, Massachusetts; brother, Marvin (Lorraine) Davis of Leavenworth, Kansas; sisters, Wava Markmann of Kansas City, Kansas, and Mildred Carroll of Wichita, Kansas, and two grandchildren.

Services are at Pauls Funeral Home in Oberlin on Saturday, Nov. 23, 2013, at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Nancy Proffitt officiating.

Visitation is Friday, Nov. 23, 2013, from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturday, 8 a.m. to service time.

Memorials may be given to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research or charity of donor's choice.
