SALINA, Kansas --John Dwane Eggers, "Johnny J.D.," 76, formerly of Bird City, Kansas, died Wednesday (Nov. 13, 2013), at Salina Hospice Center in Salina, Kansas.

He was born Dec. 8, 1936, in Bird City, Kansas, and was a farmer/rancher.

Survivors include his wife, Yvonne (Ostdick) Eggers of Salina; children, Dexter Eggers and Walt Eggers, both of Salina, Tobe Eggers of Manhattan, Kansas, Jim Eggers of Dodge City, Kansas, Angela Walters of Hays, Kansas; sisters, Nina Walch of Chula Vista, California, and Emilie Vallin of Long Island, Kansas, and four grandchildren.

Services are 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 16, 2013, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Bird City, Kansas.

Rosary is 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 16, 2013, at St. Joseph Catholic Church.

Memorials may be given in his name.

Knodel Funeral Home in St. Francis, Kansas, is in charge of arrangements.
