BEAVER CITY, Nebraska -- C. Dean Weaver, 81, of Stamford, Nebraska, died Monday (Nov. 4, 2013), at Phelps Memorial Hospital in Holdrege, Nebraska.
He was born May 7, 1932, south of Beaver City on the family farm to W. Gail and M. Nellie (Wright) Weaver.
He graduated in 1949 at Beaver City High School. He married Helen Kentfield after graduation. He worked for several farmers in the country and also at the Beaver City Light Plant. In 1953, he worked for Burlington Northern Railroad, working out of Stamford as a laborer. He later worked as a truck driver on the rails and a foreman. After retiring, he farmed on his parent's farm.
He was a lifelong member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church of Beaver City.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and sons, Terry and Randy Weaver.
He is survived by his wife, Helen Weaver of Stamford, Nebraska; children, Larry and wife, Marsha Weaver of Beaver City, Craig and wife, Kay Weaver of North Platte, Nebraska and Jack and wife, Terri Weaver of North Platte; sisters, Margene Wessel of Lincoln, Nebraska, Della Mae and husband, Maynard Boyko of Ruthville, North Dakota and Carolyn and husband, Gene Stewart of Chadron, Nebraska; 12 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services are Friday, Nov. 8, 2013 at 2 p.m. at Seventh Day Adventist Church in Beaver City with the Rev. Lawrence Francis and Keith Theobald officiating. Interment will be at the Stamford Cemetery, at Stamford.
Visitation is Thursday, Nov. 7, 2013, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the funeral home, with family greeting friends from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Beaver City.
