ATWOOD, Kansas -- Fannie Marie Chipperfield, 90, of Atwood, passed into eternity Thursday, Oct. 31, 2013, at Atwood.
Fannie was born Nov. 16, 1922, to Harry and Stella Pettit in Cheyenne Co. Kansas. She spent her youth in Big Timber Community growing up acquainted with the Chipperfield family. Fannie attended Baker School, Bird City High School and Fort Hayes State. She taught eight years in Cheyenne County.
Walter Chipperfield and Fannie Pettit were united in marriage May 8, 1949, in Benkelman, Nebraska. In 1950, they chose to serve the Lord and have been faithful to that choice all their lives. They spent many years on a ranch south of McDonald where they raised their four children. In 1983, they retired and moved to Atwood.
Preceding Fannie in death were her parents, sisters, Aletha Willis and Edna Hatch, brothers, Wayne and Melvin Pettit.
Surviving Fannie are her husband, one daughter, Carol and Charles Campbell of Glenpool, Oklahoma, three sons, Lee and Dica Chipperfield of Wahoo, Nebraska, Stanley and Helen Chipperfield of Gypsum, Kansas and Dwight and Judith Chipperfield of Goodland, Kansas. Fannie also has eight grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
Viewing was Sunday, 4-7 p.m. at Baalmann Mortuary in Atwood. Funeral service will be Monday at 2 p.m. at the American Legion Hall in Bird City, with burial at Benkelman, Nebraska.
