OBERLIN, Kansas -- Marion S. Wenger, 87, of Benton, Kansas, formerly of Oberlin, died Thursday, Oct. 31, 2013, at Benton.

He was born Feb. 11, 1926, in rural Oberlin to Herman and Myrtle Hanchett Wenger. He attended a rural one-room school house in Decatur County, Kansas. He married Helen L. Walton on June 18, 1949.

He worked at Wenger Cleaning, Oberlin Milling, farming, and Oberlin Meal Site.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Myrtle (Hanchett) Wenger and wife, Helen L. (Walton) Wenger.

Survivors include children, Vincent Wenger and wife, Linda, of Salina, Kansas, Greg Wenger and wife, Julie, of Overland Park, Kansas, Susan Griem and husband, Eddie, of Benton and Janell Slator and husband, Gary, of DeSota, Kansas; brothers, Lawrence Wenger and wife, Dorothy, of Oberlin and Clifford Wenger and wife, Eunice, of Fort Morgan, Colorado; sister, Estella Waldo of Oberlin, 15 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

Services are Saturday, Nov. 2, 2013, at 2 p.m. at Pauls Funeral Home. Interment is at Oberlin Cemetery.

Visitation is today until 8 p.m. and Saturday, from 8 a.m. until service time
