ATWOOD, Kansas -- Keith Barnett, 84, died Monday (Oct. 21, 2013), at the Good Samaritan Society in Atwood.

He was born Aug. 11, 1929, in rural Rexford, Kansas, to Ray and Daisy (Myers) Barnett. He was raised on a farm north of Rexford. He attended Hawkeye County School and graduated from Decatur Community High School in 1946.

He married Darlene Thieler on June 6, 1949, in Rexford. He farmed north of Rexford until 1955, when he farmed in Atwood.

He was a member of First Christian Church in Atwood and Odd Fellows Lodge.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ray and Daisy Barnett; wife, Darlene Barnett; brothers, Beauford and Kenneth Barnett and sister, Corrine Jones.

Survivors include three sons, Dennis and wife, Pat Barnett of Fort Walton Beach, Florida, Bill Barnett of Denver, Colorado, and Mike and wife, Debbie Barnett of Hays, Kansas; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchlldren.

Services are Friday, Oct. 25, 2013, at First Christian Church in Atwood at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Mike McVay officiating. Interment is at Fairview Cemetery in Atwood.

There is no visitation, cremation was chosen.

Memorials may be given to Atwood and Colby Alcoholics Anonymous.
